Kalpana Patowary will perform
in Lord of Melody R.D.Burman’s Platinum to celebrate his 75th Birth
Anniversary organized by Rhythm D’vine on 27th June, 2014 - 6PM Venue: Sri
Shanmukhananda Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Auditorium, Mumbai.
The stage is
set; the city is ready to celebrate the birth anniversary of one of its
prodigal sons.

Burman spent his formative years in Calcutta learning the ropes of music
making from his father Sachin Dev as well as Ali Akbar Khan before accompanying
his parents to Bombay. Years after his passing away, RD is more of a brand
these days thanks to his ageless creations still appear as fresh as newly
recorded songs.
To celebrate his 75th birth
anniversary the Mumbai city is ready with a bundle of musical events, featuring
singers and musicians to pay tribute to the musical maestro.
Rhythm D’vine brain child of famous
Bolliwood Rhythmist Nitin Shankar will be presenting “Platinum Pancham”, and
Kalpana Patowary would perform in Mumbai

It will be an unforgettable event for me,
says Kalpana. I will be performing for the first time in any R.D.Burman’s
tribute concert as a featured artist in Mumbai city. Says the singer,

college days. In Guwahati ASSAM all the artistes once decided to do RDs song
version in Assamese and I sang and got to learn the compositions - ETA DESHLAI
KATHI and AAJ KI RAATE …the project titled VIOLINA. sedative music….
