Kalpana Patowary enthrals Kolkotta audience in Netaji Subhash Chandra Indoor Stadium.

From Assamese to Bhojpuri to Bengali, Kalpana Patowary has treaded many paths, to finally make her passion her profession. And now, the singer, a renowned Assamese damsel and Bhojpuri icon whose recent song Koka Kola from Bengali Film Faande Poriya Boga Kaander Re was the biggest hit song of 2012 in West Bengal performed in a packed Netaji Subhash Chandra Indoor Stadium, Kolkata on 24th April 2012.

Way back in 2009, Kalpana had mesmerized the Kolkatta audience in the same Indore stadium with her hit Hindi and Bhojpuri numbers and this time she  was back yet again with her Bengali songs and the promotion of her two brand new musical album “The Legacy of Bhikhari Thakur” and  “Maa-e-Ri – a lyrical conversation with Mother Nature”.
ICORE E Services, an Information Technology (IT), was the host of the event, perhaps one of the most well-organized music events held at the venue in recent times.
Kalpana not only performed on her hits like ‘Tere Ishq Se Mitha - Film AAKROSH’, Aila re aila with Diler Mahendi – Film KHATTA MEETHA, Shakira se bhi jyada & Babe di kripa – Film NO PROBLEM but also rejuvenate the crowd with the classics of Dr Bhupen Hazarika in Bengali with the song E Dola Re Dola, The Sheakespeare of Bhojpuri Literature – Bhikhari Thakur songs such as ‘Piyaari Sundari’, ‘Raas Lila’ and Kalyug Prem at the same time showering the crowd with the colors of “Maa-e-Ri from her latest debut Hindi album “Maa-e-Ri – a lyrical conversation with Mother Nature”.
The stadium was brimming with music lovers and the crowd went berserk, asking for more of my popular hits. It was a great experience.  It’s was also a great honor to be sharing the stage with “Ohh La La” singer Bappi Lahiri and Kumar Sanu.
I am at the cusp of so many wonderful opportunities coming my way right now. I am happy that some of the dreams that I envisioned years ago are finally taking shape. I’ve always believed that my music deserved to be heard around the world and for many years I have been investing a lot of time, money and hard work towards achieving this goal.
But this is only the beginning. There is more hard work ahead and many more milestones to reach.
