Like many others, this talented Assamese damsel dropped in Mumbai 2001 to onset her career as a playback singer and made her debut with a remix album named “My Heart is Beating” with Times Music and by–and–by she didn’t look back. A disciple of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan, who has polished many eminent names of music industry like Hariharan, Sonu Nigam, A.R.Rahman, Shaan and others. Kalpana was fortunate to con classical music from him in order to shape her career. She is the eldest daughter of Shri Bipin Patowary and a regular folk singer of”All India Radio”(Guwahati). In spite of her mother tongue being Assamese, Kalpana has easily adapted different languages.
She has already sung for 22 languages.
